This game took the meek NES
into new, uncharted territory. Seemingly from out of
nowhere this game hit the shelves running with
gorgious graphics and spooky level music. Here in the
US we were at the start of the "Nintendo
Era" and had not seen or expected to see
anything like it before or since. Nintendo's strict
lisence policy forbid any gory scenes and any game
from showing religious artifacts. Konami almost had
to pass the option of releasing this game in the US
due to these reasons.
Thank goodness (or badness) Konami did a little
tweaking of the graphics and viola, the game was
released here in the good 'ol USA. Konami hasn't looked back since.
Fighting the hordes of Dracula as Simon Belmont, you
turn to your trusty whip for survival. In this instant
classic for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) you,
as Simon, play through 10 grueling (really) levels of mayhem.
Let me tell you, this game is not easy. Be prepared to have
fits of rage and episodes of hair ripping befor this is all
over!
